Using Training-Marketing to Reach Advanced Drupal Users with Acquia
Some of our most popular training-marketing classes have targeted beginner web developers. However, the classes can be designed to reach very specific targets, including advanced users.
Training-marketing has proven to be very successful at reaching groups of advanced users that otherwise would have been very difficult to reach.
This was the reason Acquia asked us to create video tutorials for them last year.
Acquia developed Lightning in order to enable developers to take advantage of new Drupal 8 functionality. They aimed it at creating a new standard for enterprise authoring in Drupal including Layout, Workflow, Media, and API.
“A new standard for enterprise authoring” meant the target market would be advanced Drupal 8 users. The videos needed to accomplish two objectives:
- To increase Lightning’s top of mind awareness.
- To get users to try it and use it.
We helped them to get the word out by designing, creating, and publishing a short series of video tutorials. They help advanced Drupal developers take advantage of the lightweight framework, documentation and best practice examples for building working solutions in Drupal.
The Introduction to Lightning course was published in March 2018. The course was designed squarely for advanced users of Drupal – – something that enabled us to keep it short and to the point.
This was something vital for engaging advanced users who would likely switch off if the course gets too basic.
The short course kept this marketing effort very affordable for Acquia requiring a minimum engagement from them.
