How Ecwid Used Training-Marketing to Promote Their eCommerce Platform

Ecwid is a cloud-based e-commerce platform that enables web developers to seamlessly integrate an online store to an existing website.

With a free-forever plan and no setup charges or transaction fees, Ecwid has a very attractive eC0mmerce platform.

Today, Ecwid is used by over 1.5 million merchants in 175 countries. It competes squarely against WooCommerce, Magento, and Shopify.

Ecwid asked OSTraining to help them introduce Ecwid to starting web developers.

How do you promote a new platform?

We understand web developers and know that they are three times more likely to try a new platform if there is high-quality training available for it. So logic tells us that if we want them to try Ecwid, we would need to begin with a great video course.

We started by creating a comprehensive 32 video series on Ecwid. The training did a great job of selling Ecwid’s many cool features.

It was designed to complement Ecwid’s paid marketing campaigns. So we made it available at the Ecwid site and their YouTube channel.

Lastly, we made the training available at Both on the publicly viewed blog and for paying subscribers.

This was done to help introduce Ecwid to tens of thousands of WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, and Magento web developers that frequent our site.

Have the videos been successful? Yes, absolutely. This video, entitled “Set up your First Product” has 30,000 views on YouTube alone:

OSTraining reaches more starting web developers than anyone on the web

Between our YouTube channel, blog, and newsletters, OSTraining reaches over 30 thousand web developers each day.

We used this incredible reach to tell the Ecwid story to the most qualified traffic: tens of thousands of starting web developers that will likely build an eCommerce site during the next year.

It worked!

Our training-marketing helped make Ecwid’s marketing campaigns more effective. Our training was able to properly explain Ecwid’s USP’s while it gave Ecwid a valuable seal of approval that made traffic swayed by their marketing campaigns, more likely to try it.

If you have a platform that’s competing against giants like WordPress, Shopify, or WooCommerce, reach out to us, we can help you get the attention of web developers.
